London Paralympics - looking back > IMG 0259
Some photos taken during the London Paralympics.
The shooting photos feature GB silver medallist Matthew Skelhorn and French last-shot gold winner Cedric Fevre. Scores were 706.7 for France and 706.4 for GB. Close! The archery and wheelchair competitors are perfect examples of the concentration required to be the best.
Stef Reid won silver for long jump while the days highlight was GB Discus winner Aled Davies who beat Iranian Karem Zadeh. Davies' gold is a European record and his medal meant team GB had surpassed the total Beijing Gold medal tally. The first photo of Aled - competitor 2309 - shows him mid-leap as he realises he has won!
Aleds celebrations had the entire stadium's spectators roaring their approval! Aled was presented with his medal by the Duchess of Cambridge in the evening.
We love the Olympic flame and it's copper petals. In our previous blog we have photos of the flame on it's journey through St Albans to the stadium, so seeing the lit cauldron holds special affection to us.
